Strapping Energy Costs Come Down to the Drive Method
In corrugated box plants, the strapping process right before shipment runs nonstop every day. That makes the power a strapping machine uses not a one-time expense but an operating cost that adds up day after day. Above all, a machine's energy efficiency depends on how it is driven.
JS SYSTEM's AMB 1500 S/T inline automatic PP strapping machine is driven directly by servo motors rather than pneumatics. There is no need to generate and store compressed air. The machine draws only the power each motion actually requires.
Pneumatic vs. Servo Drive
Pneumatic machines compress air with a compressor and send it through piping to move cylinders. Energy is lost along the way, and efficiency keeps declining as air leaks develop and cylinders wear. With a servo drive, the motor moves the mechanism directly, so far less energy is lost in between.

How 9-Axis Full-Servo Control Cuts Power by 30~40%
The AMB 1500 has a full-servo design with all 9 axes under servo control. Each axis handles its own task, such as feeding, strapping, or tensioning, with precision, which cuts out unnecessary motion. As a result, it uses 30~40% less power than pneumatic machines.

Efficiency That Holds Up Is Also a Saving
Differences in energy efficiency show up more after years of use than at installation. As air leaks and cylinder wear build up, a pneumatic machine needs more energy to do the same work. A direct servo drive has almost none of these wear factors, so its efficiency stays largely intact over long-term use.
Savings Over the Long Run
With no air leaks or cylinder wear, a servo drive has fewer minor breakdowns. It can run continuously for years at close to its original efficiency.

Energy Savings and Productivity in One Machine
The AMB 1500 saves power while strapping at 28 cycles per minute. When box sizes change, operators simply select the new size on the touch panel and the machine sets itself up automatically, saving 10~30 minutes. Choose the side-feed S model to connect directly to an existing line, or the top-feed T model for standalone placement. JS SYSTEM designs and builds its machines in Korea, and as the maker, we stand behind them from start to finish.
