Continuous Banding Mode on an Inline Automatic PP Strapping Machine: How to Use It

The AMB 1500 S/T has four banding modes. Continuous banding mode is built for high-volume production lines where box bundles arrive one after another. This article covers how high-speed strapping at 28 cycles per minute and auto-setting keep outbound shipments flowing without interruption.

Why High-Volume Lines Need Continuous Banding Mode

In the shipping section of a corrugated box plant, finished box bundles come off the line without a break. If strapping can't keep up with the upstream process, bundles pile up and the whole line has to slow down to the strapping speed. Of the AMB 1500 S/T's four banding modes, continuous banding mode is the one designed for high-volume lines where bundles are fed in continuously.

High-Speed Strapping Driven by a 9-Axis Full-Servo System

The AMB 1500 S/T inline automatic PP strapping machine uses a 9-axis full-servo drive to band 28 times per minute. In continuous banding, consistent strapping quality matters as much as speed. Because tension is servo-controlled, PP band tension stays uniform even as bundles keep arriving, so strapping quality varies less from one bundle to the next.

Servo direct drive also cuts power consumption by 30–40% compared with pneumatic systems. On a high-volume line, though, the first benefit operators notice is stable operation at high speed.

Choosing the S or T Model to Fit Your Line Layout

To get the full benefit of continuous banding mode, the machine has to be placed to match the line flow. The S model uses side feeding, so it connects inline to an existing line and takes over the bundle flow directly. The T model uses top feeding and suits sites that need a standalone installation.

Auto-Setting Keeps the Line Moving Through Size Changes

Box sizes change often, even on high-volume lines. With manual setup, the line stops at every changeover. The AMB 1500 S/T uses Korea's first full-servo automatic-control auto-setting technology: select the size on the touch panel and the machine sets itself up, saving 10–30 minutes per changeover compared with manual setup.

Continuous Banding and Auto-Setting

The shorter the changeover, the more time the line spends in continuous banding mode. A high-volume line keeps its throughput only when high-speed strapping and fast changeovers work together.

Durability for Stable Long-Term Operation

Continuous banding means the machine repeats the same motion for long stretches. Because the AMB 1500 S/T uses servo direct drive, it avoids the air leaks and cylinder wear found in pneumatic machines, and minor breakdowns are rare. It also has Korea's first overload-prevention control system. The machine is designed and built in Korea, and the manufacturer's own engineers handle after-sales service.
