Banding Operation Safety Guide for Preventing Pinching Accidents During AMB 1500 S/T Operation
The first hazard to manage in banding operations is pinching accidents around rotating parts and drive parts. AMB 1500 S/T from JS SYSTEM (Jieiseu System) is an Automatic Inline Strapping Machine that operates at a speed of 28 cycles/min, with box transfer and banding processes continuing automatically. As the equipment offers high operational efficiency, worker movement paths and equipment access zones must be clearly separated. In particular, it is important to designate areas around the banding head, transfer section, and drive section as restricted access zones to prevent unexpected contact.
Key Safety Principles
AMB 1500 S/T is equipped with Korea's first full-servo automatic control auto-setting and Korea's first load prevention control system. However, the higher the level of automation, the more important it is to minimize manual intervention during operation and manage the areas around rotating parts and drive parts as clearly defined restricted access zones to ensure safety.
Top speed in the industry
As automatic transfer and banding proceed rapidly, access control is critical.
LS domestic servo
Full-servo-based automatic control provides high process responsiveness.
Energy savings
Supports efficient operation based on power consumption of 4kW.
Designed and manufactured in Korea
One-stop service is available for domestic design, manufacturing, and A/S.
This equipment can handle box sizes from a maximum of 1500 x 1300 (mm) down to a minimum of 400 x 200, and supports dual banding, single banding, eccentric banding, and auto-setting modes. Since the equipment dimensions are 2100 x 2600 x 1900 (mm) and its weight is approximately 1,500kg, the work radius must be managed to include not only the equipment body itself but also the transfer sections where boxes are loaded and discharged. In particular, operational standards are required to visually separate the path where boxes move and the section where banding is fastened so that hands or other body parts are not inserted.
Areas around rotating parts and drive parts must be designated as restricted access zones during operation and managed separately from worker passageways.
Recognize the entire transfer path, including the box loading and discharge sections, as a hazardous area and minimize manual intervention.
Considering the characteristics of the automated process operating at 28 cycles/min, do not attempt to manually straighten product positions while the equipment is running.
The box transfer and banding speed adjustment function should be set not only for productivity but also in accordance with safe operation standards.
When changing operating modes such as dual banding, single banding, eccentric banding, and auto-setting, clearly communicate the current operating method to workers.
Maintain stable conditions of 220V, 50/60Hz power supply and 4~6kg/cm air pressure, and inspect immediately if any abnormal signs occur.
| 항목 | Safe Operating Standards | Operating Methods Requiring Caution |
|---|---|---|
| Zone management | Clearly distinguish restricted access zones for rotating parts and drive parts. | Use the area around the equipment as if it were a free work space. |
| Work intervention | Do not intervene manually during automatic transfer. | Push or straighten moving boxes by hand. |
| Operation settings | Adjust box transfer/banding speed according to the work environment. | Operate only at the same speed regardless of the work environment. |
| Equipment response | Use the load prevention control system together with inspection procedures. | Respond immediately by hand on site even when abnormal signs appear. |

The maker takes responsibility to the end
AMB 1500 S/T is equipment that achieves high-speed automation based on outstanding banding tension, stable banding performance, and Korea's first full-servo automatic control auto-setting. Safety begins with operational standards that enable these capabilities to be used reliably. By following basic principles such as setting restricted access zones, separating worker movement paths, and sharing information in advance when changing modes, both productivity and safety can be secured. JS SYSTEM responsibly supports not only domestic development, manufacturing, and A/S one-stop service but also the establishment of operation standards tailored to each site.
